Trout Point Lodge announces that for the first time since opening in July, 2000, the Lodge will welcome guests for a brief winter season, December 15 through the night of January 1, 2011.
WINTER ACTIVITIES & DINING:
Located adjacent to the Tobeatic Wilderness Area about 3 hours’ drive southwest of Halifax, Trout Point will open all 8 rooms in its main lodge, as well as 3 rooms at nearby River Bend Lodge. “Winter can be one of the most beautiful seasons here,” remarked co-owner Vaughn Perret. Trout Point will offer full dining service, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner in 2 different venues: the granite-walled main dining room and the intimate Napier Club. Activities include excursion into the wilderness area, snow shoeing, wine tasting, and cooking classes.
Many of the lodge rooms have fireplaces or wood stoves. The Great Rooms at the lodges also feature cozy wood-burning fireplaces and soaring cathedral ceilings. Trout Point counts among just 2 members of the prestigious Paris-based Relais & Chateaux Association in Atlantic Canada.
A New Year’s Eve celebration with live music and champagne is planned. The Lodge will not serve lunch or dinner on Christmas Day.
